The Gold Medal of Menelik II was one of the major medals which the Crown could dispense, and was listed as a current decoration in 1936.1Zervos. A. Op Cit. However no record of its award can be found in recent years, and the Crown Council has no plans at this time to issue this decoration. It was, however, a very senior decoration, ranking just behind the two major military gallantry awards.
