Once more, we are deeply grieved to learn of terrible atrocities being carried out against Orthodox Christians in Arsi zone of the Oromia Federal region. The repeated killing of the faithful and the burning of their homes and houses of worship is not just a violation of the rights guaranteed by earthly laws but also violates the basic principles of all religions. These actions are barbaric, are a stain upon the history of our country, and cannot be allowed to continue.
The Crown Council of Ethiopia calls for an end to these repeated killings and once again urges the responsible authorities at all levels to do their duty and bring the violent elements to justice. We note the statement issued by the General Assembly of the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and join them in denouncing these crimes and calling on the authorities to restore peace to our people.
May God have mercy on the souls of the dead, may He comfort the bereaved and heal the wounded, and may He bring peace to Ethiopia.
በኦሮምያ ክልል አርሲ ዞን በኦርቶዶክሳዊ አማኞች ላይ ተደጋግሞ ሰለሚካሄደው ዘግናኝ ድርጊት በታላቅ ሀዘን ሰምተናል። ይህ የተደጋገመው የምእመናን ግድያ፤ የአብያተ ክርስቲያናት እና መኖርያ ቤቶች ቃጠሎ፤ ሕዝብን በሐይማኖቱ ምክንያት ማፈናቀል፤ በምድራዊ ሕግ የተረጋገጡ መብቶችን ብቻ ሳይሆን የማንኛውንም ሐይማኖት እምነትን የሚጥሱ ነው። እነዚህን ኢሰባዊ እና አረመናዊ ድርጊቶች በአገራችን ታሪክ ጥቁር ነጥብ የጣሉ ሲሆኑ እንዲቀጥሉ መፈቀድ የለበትም።
የኢትዮጵያ ዘውድ ምክር ቤት እነዚ የተዳጋገሙ ዘግናኝ ድርጊቶች እንዲቆሙ እና የሚመለከታቸው በየደረጃው ያሉ የበላይ አካላት ሀላፊነታቸውን እና ግዴታቸውን እንዲወጡ እና ወንጀለኞችን ለፍርድ እንዲያቀርቡ ጥሪውን ያቀርባል። የቅዱስ ሲኖዶስ ምልዐተ ጉባኤ ያወጣውን መግለጫ በመደገፍ ከእነሱ ጋር ሆነን እነዚህን ወንጀሎች በማውገዝ የመንግሥት አካላት ሀላፊነታቸውን እንዲወጡ እናሳስባለን።
እግዚአብሔር የሞቱትን ነፍስ ይማር፤ ያዘኑትን ያጽናና፤ የቆሰሉትን ይፈውስ፤ ለአገራችንም ለኢትዮጵያ ሰላምን ያድላት።
