His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie Haile-Selassie, President of the Crown Council of Ethiopia, gave an interview to Sputnik Africa to mark Mandela Day 2026

Following this interview, Prince Ermias made the following remarks:
“Our politics needs to refocus on peace and coexistence. The only way to achieve this is through education and organization. These values are not relevant simply for Africa, but for all of humanity, even more so in these divided times. So many people remain unaware of the role Ethiopia played in the South African fight against apartheid. Education is crucial to filling that gap. The diaspora — not simply Ethiopian, but pan-African — has a tremendous duty and a responsibility to share our experiences, to promote shared values, and to teach our people that we control our own destiny.”
